Fat Grafting
in Islamabad
Fat transfer surgery — your own fat is moved from places where you have extra (belly, thighs, flanks) to places where you want more volume (face, breasts, buttocks, hands). Natural, permanent and 100% your own tissue.
Move Fat From Where You Don't Want It
Fat grafting — also called fat transfer, lipofilling, or autologous fat transfer — is a surgical procedure where your own body fat is moved from one area to another. Fat is gently removed from a place you have extra (like the belly or thighs), cleaned, and then injected into an area where you want more volume (like the face, buttocks, breasts, or hands).
Because the fat is from your own body, there is no risk of allergic reaction. The cells contain adipose-derived stem cells which also help your skin look fresher and healthier. About 60–80% of the transferred fat survives permanently, giving long-lasting, natural-looking results — much longer than dermal fillers, which only last 9–18 months.
At Elore Aesthetics in Islamabad, all fat grafting procedures use the Coleman technique — the global gold standard — performed by board-certified plastic surgeons in accredited surgical facilities, with full pre-operative testing and structured aftercare.
Four Areas Fat Transfer Improves
Fat grafting is one of the most flexible surgical procedures — the same technique can add volume to many different parts of the body, from the face to the buttocks.
Facial Fat Grafting
Most PopularYour own fat is moved to your face to fill in hollow areas — sunken cheeks, deep tear troughs, thin temples, and hollow nasolabial folds. The result looks natural because the filler is your own living tissue, not a synthetic product. Often called a "liquid facelift" — but with permanent results.
Hollow cheeks, deep under-eye troughs, thin temples, nasolabial folds, marionette lines, lip enhancement, chin shaping
Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL)
Body ShapingFat is removed from areas where you have extra (belly, waist, back, thighs) using liposuction, then injected into the buttocks to create a fuller, lifted, rounder shape. Two procedures in one — slimmer waist plus a curvier lower body. Performed using safe sub-fascial technique.
Flat or square buttock shape, hip dips, post-weight-loss volume loss, curvier silhouette goals
Breast Fat Grafting
Natural AugmentationAlso called composite breast augmentation. Your own fat is used instead of silicone implants to add a modest cup size increase (usually half to one full cup). Best for women who want a small, natural-looking enhancement without any foreign material in the body.
Modest size increase, asymmetry correction, post-implant removal volume loss, breast reconstruction
Hand & Body Rejuvenation
Anti-AgeingFat grafting can also restore lost volume in the back of the hands (where bones and veins start showing with age) and other areas like hip dips, calves, and small body contour irregularities left behind from previous surgeries.
Bony hands, hip dip correction, calf shaping, scar depression filling, post-liposuction touch-ups
Four Reasons People Choose Fat Transfer
Volume Loss From Ageing
As you get older, the fat pads in your face shrink and shift downward. This is what makes you look tired or older — not just wrinkles. Fat grafting puts back what time took away, and it lasts for years (much longer than dermal fillers).
You Want Natural — Not Foreign Material
Some people prefer using their own body tissue rather than silicone implants or hyaluronic acid fillers. Fat grafting is 100% autologous (from your own body), so there is zero risk of allergic reaction or rejection. Your body recognises it as its own.
You Want Two Improvements In One
Every fat grafting procedure starts with liposuction from a "donor area" — usually the belly, flanks, or thighs. So you slim down where you have extra and add volume where you need it. One surgery, two body improvements.
Permanent — Not Temporary
About 60–80% of the transferred fat survives long-term. Once those fat cells settle and grow new blood supply, they stay forever. Compare that to fillers (last 9–18 months) or fat dissolving (which destroys cells permanently). True long-lasting volume.
Your Surgical Journey
Consultation & Donor Site Planning
Your surgeon checks the area you want enlarged and looks at where you have extra fat to take from (donor site). Common donor sites are the belly, flanks (love handles), inner thighs, and outer thighs. Photos and measurements are taken. Your medical history is reviewed and a custom plan is made for you.
Fat Harvesting via Liposuction
Fat is gently removed from the donor area using a thin tube called a cannula. This is done with tumescent liposuction — a special low-pressure technique that keeps fat cells alive (high-pressure liposuction destroys them). The fat is collected in a sterile container.
Fat Processing & Purification
The collected fat (called lipoaspirate) is processed using the Coleman technique — centrifugation or decantation — to separate clean, pure fat cells from blood, oil, and tumescent fluid. Only the strongest, healthiest fat cells move on to the next step. This step decides how well your graft survives.
Precise Multi-Layer Injection
The purified fat is loaded into small syringes and injected into the target area in tiny droplets across multiple layers and directions. This multi-plane technique is critical — small amounts spread across many layers get blood supply faster and survive better than large lumps in one spot.
Week by Week Recovery
Fat grafting recovery has two parts — the donor area (where fat was taken from) and the recipient area (where fat was added). Both heal at the same time. The first month is the most important for fat survival.
Swelling and bruising are at peak — this is normal and expected. The treated area looks bigger than the final result. Donor area feels sore (like a tough workout). Rest at home, sleep with your head elevated.
Most bruising starts to fade. Swelling reduces noticeably. Most clients return to desk work after 5–7 days. For BBL, no sitting directly on the buttocks — use a special BBL pillow.
Swelling continues to settle. The grafted area still looks 20–30% bigger than final result. Stitches in the donor area dissolve or are removed. Compression garment continues for the donor site.
Most swelling is gone. The fat that survived has now connected to its new blood supply (this is when the graft "takes"). Light exercise can resume. The shape now looks closer to final.
Final shape is now visible. About 60–80% of the transferred fat has survived permanently. The fat that did not survive is naturally absorbed by your body. No more changes after this point.
Fully healed and final result. The surviving fat behaves like normal body fat — it stays for life, but can grow with significant weight gain or shrink with significant weight loss. Long-term, results are stable.
Good Candidates & Who Should Wait
Ideal Candidates
- You have enough fat in donor areas (belly, thighs, flanks) for harvesting
- You are at or near a stable, healthy weight — major weight changes affect results
- You are a non-smoker, or can stop smoking 4–6 weeks before and after surgery
- You have realistic expectations — fat grafting gives natural enhancement, not extreme change
- You are in good general health with no uncontrolled medical conditions
- You understand that 20–40% of the fat will be naturally absorbed and not survive
Better to Wait If
- Very thin clients with no fat to harvest from any donor area
- Active smokers — smoking kills fat cells and ruins graft survival
- Planning major weight loss soon after surgery
- Looking for a one-cup-or-more breast size jump (implants are better for this)
- History of bleeding disorders or poor wound healing
A consultation will confirm whether fat grafting is the right option — or whether dermal fillers, implants, or another approach suits you better.
