Fuller, Defined Lips — That Look Like Yours
Lip augmentation — also called lip fillers, lip enhancement or lip injections — is a non-surgical treatment to make the lips fuller, better shaped or more defined. The most popular method is hyaluronic acid (HA) filler — a gel made from hyaluronic acid, the same molecule your own body produces to keep skin hydrated and plump.
The filler is injected into the lips using a fine needle or blunt cannula in very small, controlled amounts. You can see the result immediately. Unlike old-style silicone implants, modern HA fillers are fully reversible — they can be dissolved instantly with an enzyme called hyaluronidase if you are ever unhappy with the result. They are also biodegradable — the body slowly breaks them down naturally over 6–12 months.
At Elore Aesthetics in Islamabad, we offer multiple techniques — Russian lip, border definition, lip flip, skinbooster hydration — and use only premium HA fillers (Juvederm, Restylane, Belotero) by qualified aesthetic doctors. Our philosophy is always natural-looking results that enhance your features, not change who you are.
Six Ways to Enhance Your Lips
The right technique depends on what your lips need — volume, shape, definition or just hydration. Often a combination gives the best result.
Lip Fillers (Hyaluronic Acid)
Most PopularHyaluronic acid (HA) filler — the same substance your body makes naturally — is injected into the lips to add volume, define the border, and improve shape. HA fillers are the gold standard for lip augmentation worldwide. They are safe, reversible (can be dissolved with hyaluronidase) and last 6–12 months. We use premium brands like Juvederm, Restylane and Belotero.

Russian Lip Technique
Natural Heart ShapeA specific injection technique — rather than injecting filler at the border, the filler is placed in vertical columns through the body of the lip. This lifts the centre of the lip upward, creating a natural heart-shaped cupid's bow with height and projection — without the "duck lip" look. Very popular for South Asian lips that are naturally flatter.
Wanting a natural, defined look — not overdone. Flat or thin lips that need height not just volume
Lip Border & Cupid's Bow Definition
Shape FocusFiller placed along the vermilion border (the edge of the lip) to create a crisp, defined lip line. Also used to sharpen the peaks of the cupid's bow — the two peaks at the centre of the upper lip. Can be done alone for definition or combined with body filler for both shape and volume.
Undefined or blurry lip border, flat cupid's bow, lips that disappear without liner
Lip Flip (Botox)
Subtle PoutA tiny amount of Botox (2–4 units) injected into the orbicularis oris muscle just above the upper lip. This relaxes the muscle and causes the upper lip to gently roll outward — giving a subtle pout effect without adding volume. Perfect for people who want a small change or have a "gummy smile". Lasts 2–3 months.

Lip Hydration (Skinboosters)
Moisture & PlumpUltra-light HA skinbooster (like Restylane Kysse or Juvederm Volite) injected in tiny micro-droplets throughout the lip. Adds deep moisture, smooths lip lines and gives a soft plump effect — without adding much volume. Perfect for dry, chapped lips or older patients whose lips have lost hydration.

Lip Reduction / Correction
CorrectionFor patients with excessively large lips or previous overfilled lips — hyaluronidase enzyme is used to dissolve HA filler safely and quickly. For naturally large lower lips, Botox can be used to relax the lower lip slightly downward to create better upper-to-lower lip ratio.

Four Lip Concerns We Correct
Thin or Small Lips
Genetically thin lips — common in many South Asian facial structures — that disappear when you smile or look small without makeup. Lip fillers add volume to both the upper and lower lip in the correct ratio (upper:lower 1:1.6 golden ratio) for a naturally full, balanced result.
Undefined Lip Shape
A flat, undefined cupid's bow and blurry lip border that makes the lip look shapeless without lip liner. Filler along the vermilion border creates a crisp, defined edge and sharper cupid's bow peaks — giving the lips a completely new shape even without extra volume.
Asymmetric Lips
One side of the lip is fuller or higher than the other — common and completely normal, but many people find it bothers them. Lip filler can be placed precisely on the flatter side to balance both sides. Botox lip flip can also correct asymmetric muscle pull.
Loss of Lip Volume with Age
Lips naturally thin and flatten with age as the body produces less collagen and hyaluronic acid. Vertical lip lines (smoker's lines) appear above the upper lip. Lip filler restores lost volume and projection, and skinbooster filler smooths the vertical lines for a significantly more youthful mouth area.
Step by Step — What Happens
Consultation & Lip Analysis
Your lip shape, volume, symmetry and proportions are assessed using the golden ratio (phi 1.618). Your goals are discussed — volume, shape, definition, or all three. Your doctor recommends the best product and technique for your anatomy. Realistic results are shown using imaging.
Numbing (Topical + Filler)
A strong topical numbing cream (lidocaine 10%) is applied to the lips for 20–30 minutes. All premium lip fillers also contain lidocaine within the product — so once the first injection is done, the lips become numb and subsequent injections are almost painless.
Filler Injection (10–15 Minutes)
Using an ultra-fine needle or blunt cannula, the filler is injected in precise small amounts into the specific areas — body, border, cupid's bow or corners — depending on your treatment plan. Total filler is typically 0.5–1.5ml. The procedure takes 10–15 minutes. You can see the result immediately.
Massage, Review & Aftercare
The lip is gently massaged to distribute the filler evenly. You review the result in a mirror. Minor adjustments can be made in the same session. Ice is applied to reduce swelling. You leave with aftercare instructions and a follow-up is booked at 2 weeks to check the settled result.
Day by Day — What to Expect
The first 3 days involve swelling that makes lips look larger than the final result. By week 2, the filler has settled and you see your true result.
Lips are swollen — sometimes significantly. This is normal. The swelling makes the lips look larger than the final result. Apply ice for 10 minutes on, 10 minutes off. Avoid kissing, drinking through straws and touching the lips.
Swelling is at its peak, especially in the morning. Some bruising may appear — more common if a needle was used vs. a cannula. Lips may feel tight, lumpy or uneven. This is all normal at this stage — the filler is still settling.
Swelling reduces significantly. Bruising fades. The true shape of the filler becomes visible. Lumps and unevenness smooth out as the filler integrates with the tissue. Most patients love what they see at this stage.
Final settled result. Swelling fully gone. Filler has integrated naturally with the lip tissue. This is the result you will have for the next 6–12 months. Your doctor reviews the result and any touch-ups are done at this appointment.
HA filler slowly breaks down as the body metabolises it with its own hyaluronidase enzyme. Lips gradually return toward their original shape. Volume decrease is gradual — not sudden.
Top-up session recommended before filler fully dissolves — this maintains the shape and requires less product each time as some collagen has been stimulated by the filler. Many patients maintain their result indefinitely with regular top-ups.
