Liposuction
in Islamabad
Permanent removal of stubborn fat from belly, thighs, arms, back and chin using tumescent, VASER, PAL and laser techniques. Sculpt the shape diet and exercise alone cannot give you.
Permanent Removal of Stubborn Fat
Liposuction — also called lipoplasty, liposculpture, or simply lipo — is a surgical procedure that permanently removes fat cells (adipocytes) from specific areas of the body using a thin hollow tube called a cannula. Once these fat cells are removed, they are gone forever — your body cannot grow new fat cells in adulthood.
The most common areas treated are the abdomen, flanks (love handles), thighs (inner and outer), arms, back, chin and knees. Modern liposuction uses safe, refined techniques like tumescent liposuction, VASER ultrasonic liposuction, power-assisted liposuction (PAL) and laser liposuction (SmartLipo) — far safer and more precise than the older techniques used decades ago.
Liposuction is not a weight-loss procedure — it is a body shaping procedure. It is best for people who are already at a healthy weight but have stubborn pockets of fat that resist diet and exercise. At Elore Aesthetics, all liposuction is performed by board-certified plastic surgeons in accredited surgical facilities in Islamabad.
Four Modern Techniques Compared
Different techniques suit different goals. Your surgeon will recommend the best one for your body, your goals and the area being treated.
Tumescent Liposuction
Gold StandardThe most common and safest technique. A special fluid mixed with local anaesthetic and adrenaline is gently pumped into the fat layer before suction. This numbs the area, shrinks blood vessels (so very little bleeding) and makes fat easier to remove. Used in most modern liposuction worldwide.
Most areas of the body — abdomen, thighs, flanks, arms, back, knees
VASER Liposuction
High DefinitionVASER stands for Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance. Ultrasound waves break down fat cells before suction — like turning solid fat into liquid first. This makes removal smoother, lets the surgeon sculpt finer details, and is great for visible muscle definition (six-pack etching).
Athletic body sculpting, six-pack etching, jawline, gynecomastia, fibrous tough fat
Power-Assisted Liposuction (PAL)
Faster RecoveryA special vibrating cannula moves back and forth thousands of times per minute, breaking up fat without damaging surrounding tissue. Less force needed by the surgeon means less bruising for you, faster recovery, and excellent results for larger volume removal.
Larger volumes, dense fibrous areas like the upper back, areas requiring repeat passes
Laser Liposuction (SmartLipo)
Skin TighteningA thin laser fibre is inserted under the skin to melt fat cells and stimulate collagen production at the same time. The bonus is mild skin tightening — useful for areas where loose skin might be a concern after fat removal. Best for smaller, more localised areas.
Smaller areas with mild skin laxity — chin, neck, inner arms, knees
Areas We Sculpt
Abdomen & Waist
The most popular area for liposuction. Targets stubborn lower belly fat, upper abdomen rolls and the muffin top around the waistline. Often combined with flank liposuction to create the classic hourglass silhouette.
Thighs & Hips
Inner thigh, outer thigh (saddlebags), and hip rolls. Removes fat that resists diet and exercise. Helps reshape the lower body silhouette and reduce friction between the inner thighs.
Arms & Back
Upper arms (the area that waves when you wave) and bra-line back fat. Especially popular for women who want toned, shapely arms or to wear backless and sleeveless outfits without bulges.
Chin & Neck
Submental (under-chin) fat that creates a double chin even in slim people. Liposuction here is fast, low downtime and dramatically improves the jawline and side profile in photos.
Your Surgical Journey
Consultation & Marking
Your surgeon checks the areas you want treated, takes photos and measurements, and discusses how much fat can be safely removed in one session. The areas are then marked on your skin with a marker before surgery — like drawing a map for the procedure.
Anaesthesia & Tumescent Infiltration
Depending on how many areas are being treated, you receive local anaesthesia with sedation or general anaesthesia. The tumescent solution (saline + lidocaine + adrenaline) is then gently pumped into the fat layer to numb the area and minimise bleeding.
Fat Removal
Through tiny 3–4 mm incisions (usually hidden in natural skin folds), a thin tube called a cannula is inserted. The surgeon gently moves it back and forth in fan-shaped patterns to suction out fat. Your chosen technique (tumescent, VASER, PAL or laser) determines the cannula type.
Closure & Compression
The tiny incisions are closed with one or two stitches (or sometimes left open to drain). A compression garment is fitted immediately to control swelling and help your skin shrink back smoothly to its new shape. You go home the same day or after one night of observation.
Week by Week Recovery
Liposuction recovery is shorter than most people expect. Most clients return to desk work within a week, but the final shape takes 3–6 months to fully appear as swelling settles.
Swelling and bruising at peak. Soreness like an intense workout. Compression garment worn 24/7. Walk gently every few hours to prevent blood clots. Drainage from incisions is normal.
Most clients return to desk work after 5–7 days. Bruising starts fading from purple to yellow. Soreness reduces noticeably. Continue compression garment 24/7 except for showers.
Stitches removed (if non-dissolvable). Most bruising gone. Swelling still present — treated areas may feel firm or lumpy. This is normal and will settle. Light activity resumes.
Significant improvement visible. Swelling continues to reduce. Light exercise (walking, gentle yoga) approved. Compression garment may transition to night-only use after 4 weeks.
About 80% of swelling resolved. Final shape becoming clear. Most clients return to all forms of exercise including gym. Skin continues to retract over the new contour.
Final result visible. Skin fully retracted, swelling completely resolved. The fat cells removed are gone permanently — they cannot grow back. Maintain results with stable weight.
Good Candidates & Who Should Wait
Ideal Candidates
- You are at or near a stable, healthy weight (within 30% of ideal weight)
- You have stubborn fat areas that resist diet and exercise
- Your skin has good elasticity to shrink back over the new contour
- You are a non-smoker, or can stop smoking 4–6 weeks before and after surgery
- You are in good general health with no uncontrolled medical conditions
- You have realistic expectations — liposuction is body shaping, not weight loss
Better to Wait If
- Significant excess weight — diet and exercise should come first
- Loose, sagging skin without fat (a tummy tuck or skin removal may be needed instead)
- Active smokers — smoking dramatically slows healing
- Bleeding disorders or use of blood thinners
- Expecting liposuction to remove cellulite (it does not)
- Planning major weight changes after surgery
A consultation will tell you whether liposuction is right for you — or whether a tummy tuck, fat dissolving, or non-surgical body contouring suits you better.
